Am I a Candidate for Whitening?
Ideal candidates for teeth whitening wish to address mild to moderate discoloration. For more severe discoloration, Brian may recommend porcelain veneers or dental bonding. There are a few conditions that disqualify patients from receiving teeth whitening treatment. Women who are pregnant should not undergo teeth whitening. Additionally, patients with gum disease, worn enamel, cavities, or exposed roots should seek treatment for these conditions before undergoing cosmetic dentistry services. Our team can help you restore your oral health first, and then work to achieve your cosmetic goals.
At-home Whitening
Our practice offers two types of at-home whitening treatments. Depending on your preferences, we can provide a set of pre-molded whitening trays, or design a custom set. If you choose custom whitening trays, we will take impressions of your smile during your consultation. Once you have your pre-molded or custom trays and are ready to begin at-home whitening, you will fill the trays with the whitening gel and place them over your teeth.
With a variety of options, we can customize your at-home treatment to meet your needs.
Opalescence® offers several concentration levels. The concentration of the bleaching agent will affect how long you wear the trays. Your treatment can last as little as 30 minutes per day, or you can choose trays that stay in place overnight. With a variety of options, we can customize your at-home treatment to meet your needs.
In-office Whitening
For patients who want to whiten their teeth quickly, we also offer Opalescence® Boost in our office. A typical Opalescence® Boost treatment session lasts 45 minutes. Brian will first use a shade guide to determine the current shade of your teeth. Then he will apply the bleaching gel using a gentle, brushed tip. The unique chemical formula of Opalescence® Boost allows you to achieve dramatic results without the use of a special laser or light, which helps to keep your gums hydrated.
Whiter Teeth for Life
Our free Whitening for Life program rewards patients who attend their biannual dental examination with Brian. Every six months, you are eligible to receive a free at-home whitening kit at your scheduled cleaning and exam. This program can help you maintain the results of your whitening treatment for years to come.
